'Music in the Park'...on the Runway...!!!

'Music in the Park' at Spaldington began life as a modest 'one-off' event to raise funds for Parkinson's Disease research. Eight years later it has become a major summer diary-date on East Yorkshire's social calendar, with hundreds of people travelling from all over the country to enjoy a foot-stomping mix of jazz, opera and popular music.

What is most remarkable, however, is that this highly polished event isn't in Central London but has been held for years in the hamlet of Spaldington, near Howden, in Yorkshire. 

Nine years ago, when Ann Marie Jackson of Spaldington Old Hall was first diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, the thought of organising such a major event couldn't have been further from her mind. With determination to support the research Ann Marie wanted to channel her energy into raising funds knowing that, one day, there would be a cure to benefit future generations.

However, for this year only, Spaldington 'Music in the Park' has moved 3 miles (as the crow flys...!!!) to the 'Yorkshire's Best' Celebration at Breighton Airfield and the Saturday evening (as in previous years at Spaldington) is especially dedicated to all those who need help managing Parkinson's Disease.

 'Yorkshire's Best' team would like to add that we are delighted and honoured to be hosting Ann Maries 'Music in The Park' at Breighton Airfield on Saturday 31st July 7.30pm > 12.00pm on the runway opposite the main marquee.

Through the support of all the people who have attended and partcipated over the years (whom Ann Marie would personally like to thank wholeheartedly) many tens of thousands of pounds has been forwarded to the Parkinson's Disease Society. 'Yorkshire's Best' are aiming to raise a similar amount as has been raised each year in the past but we do need your support in order for this to happen.

So please come along to Breighton Airfield Saturday 31st July 2010 and enjoy...

Please note that the 'Yorkshire's Best' team are still confirming the itinerary for this three day celebration and therefore is still subject to change......PLEASE BEAR WITH US. (Please also note that some events are only available on certain days and not on others....Double double check on the tickets page as to what is available when, where and on what day...!!!)
